A solid majority of Americans believe, for the first time, that the war in Iraq was a mistake and most people believe Defense1 Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld should lose his job, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll published Tuesday.

While a slight majority believe the Iraq war contributed to the long-term security of the United States, 70 percent of Americans think these gains have come at an unacceptable cosplayt in military casualties, the poll shows.

This led 56 percent to conclude that, given the cosplayt, the conflict in Iraq was not worth fighting, an eight-point increase from this summer, and the first time a decisive majority of people have reached this conclusion.

Casualty多用復數形式casualties,表示傷亡(人數),意料之外事故,死傷者,受害者,比如:a train wreck2 with an unknown number of casualties(一次傷亡人數不明的火車事故);casualty clearing station(野戰醫院);The corner grocery was a casualty of the expanding supermarkets.(角落里的雜貨店是日益擴大的超級市場的受害者。)除此之外,casualty department還可以表示臨時救治所;急診室,等于casualty department。
