Beijing to Hold Concert Promoting Volunteer Program for Olympic Games

北京團(tuán)市委、北京年輕人報(bào)社、北京志愿者協(xié)會(huì)、北京青少年進(jìn)步基金會(huì)等四家單位的代表一同啟動(dòng)了志愿北京 713行動(dòng)基金。旨在弘揚(yáng)志愿服務(wù)精神,推進(jìn)北京志愿服務(wù)事業(yè)進(jìn)步的本次演唱會(huì)定于7月13日在北京工人體育場舉行。
Representatives from the Youth League Municipal Committee, Beijing Youth Daily, Beijing Volunteers Association and the Beijing Youth Development Foundation jointly1 launched the Fund of 7.13 Beijing Volunteer Action.
Beijing is to hold a concert to promote volunteer program for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing on July 13, 2005, officials from the city's youth organization said on June 9.
The Concert is jointly sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Publicity2 Department, Beijing Municipal Committee of the Youth League and the Capital's Ethical3 and Cultural Progress Commission Office. The concert is planned at Beijing Workers Stadium, with the aim of promoting the spirit of selfless voluntary service for the Beijing Olympics.
At the launching ceremony, Guan Chenghua, director of the General Office of the Coordination4 Panel of Volunteers for the Beijing Olympic Games and secretary of the Youth League Municipal Committee, explained the Action Plan of Beijing Olympic Volunteers. He expressed the wish that the concert and similar cultural activities are aimed to raise public awareness5 and encourage public participation6 in volunteer service.
Zhang Yanping, presidnet of the Beijing Youth Daily, introduced the background of the concert.
At the ceremony, representatives from the Youth League Municipal Committee, Beijing Youth Daily, Beijing Volunteers Association and Beijing Youth Development Foundation jointly launched the Fund of 7.13 Beijing Volunteer Action, which belongs to the Beijing Volunteer Service Fund under the Beijing Youth Development Foundation. From 2005 to 2008, this fund will be specially7 used on training of volunteers and voluntary activities for the Beijing Olympic Games. The four sponsors will jointly form a board of the Fund of 7.13 Beijing Volunteer Action. The board will be responsible for fund-raising, management and supervision8 of the fund. The revenue from holding the concert will go into the fund.
