* May I？是可以嗎？的意思，用以求取承諾或允許時用的措辭，是極為要緊的使用方法之一。

e.g. You may come if you wish.假如你想的話，你就來吧。

2） This is my friend Susan.這位是我的朋友蘇珊。

* 注意這里要用This is，而不說She is。

3） I'm glad to meet you.幸會。開心見到你。

* 若要強調開心，可如 I am so glad to般把 so 插在里面。這 so 多見于女人用。

4） Cathy has told me so much about you.我常常聽到凱茜提到你。

* so much about you 是提到不少有關你的事的意思。

5） Goodbye, it was nice meeting you.再見，非常榮幸認識你。

* 這是美國一般用于和初次認識的人道別的招呼語。

也可以說做I'm glad to have met you.。

6） How have you been？

你過的還怎么樣？

* 這是問人自前次離開之后狀況的慣用表達。

7） I haven't seen you for a long time.好久沒見到你了。

* 也蘊含著怎么樣打發日子的意思。

8） How is it going with you？

你過得如何？

* 問目前的狀況，常用于平時會話中。

9） Please sTOP by （drop in） sometime.請于日前過來坐坐。

* sTOP by 是順道來，有時也用 sTOP in 或 drop in.
