A see意指約見（一般用于商業活動）與會見時可用進行時態：

The director is seeing the applicants^{1 this morning．}

今天早上主任要見那些求職的人。

I am seeing my solicitor^{2 tomorrow．}

我明天要見我的律師。（參見第202節。）

see可以指訪問，一般指旅游者而言：

Tom is seeing the town／the sights．

湯姆正在這座城市觀光／觀光各處景點。

下列詞組也可以用進行時態：

see about（= make arrangements／enquiries安排，查看）：

We are seeing about a work permit for you．

大家正在給你辦理工作執照。（著手安排此事）

see to（=arrange，put right， deal with安排，維修，處置）：

The plumber^{3 is here． He is seeing to the leak in our tank．}

管道工在這里。他正在維修大家的水箱的漏洞。

see somebody out（= escort him／her to the door送他／她到門口）

see somebody home （=escort him／her home送他／她回家）

see somebody to＋place（=escort him／her to＋place送他／她到某地）：

Ann：Is Bill seeing you home after the party？

Mary：No，hes just seeing me to my bus．

see someone off（=say goodbye to a departing traveller at the starting point of his journey為一個馬上離開的旅客在旅程的起點，一般是火車站或機場等處送行）：

Were leaving tomorrow．Bill is seeing us off at the airport．

B hear 如指正式地聽取投訴／證言等時，也可用進行時態：

The court is hearing evidence this afternoon．

法庭今天下午聽取證詞。

意指聽到消息或信件的hear只有在目前完成時及一般以后時中才可以用進行時態：

Ive been hearing all about your accident．

我一直在聽人說你出事故的詳情。

Youll be hearing about the new scheme at our next meeting．

在大家下一次會議上你就會聽到新計劃的狀況。
