1.He read a book while I watched TV.在我看電視的過程中，他讀完了一本書。

請教老師如此理解對嗎？第一句可以不能理解為讀完書只不過我看電視中間的一段時(shí)間，并非從頭持續(xù)到尾，因此可以把while用when替代？謝謝！

1、網(wǎng)友的兩個(gè)句子，英語都正確。

1. He read a book while I watched TV.

2. He was reading a book while I was watching TV.

但第一句的漢語翻譯錯(cuò)誤。倘若 He read a book. 后面沒 while...這個(gè)時(shí)間狀語時(shí)，表示“已經(jīng)讀完”。網(wǎng)友沒完全領(lǐng)會 while 從句的意思，對于主句是一個(gè)延續(xù)性動詞而言，while 用來講明“主句謂語動詞動作持續(xù)的時(shí)間段，在 while 存在時(shí)，主句謂語動詞的動作不可能終止或完成。” 假如要表示主句動作在 while 從句進(jìn)行的時(shí)候完成，那樣，就要用終止性動詞，且 while 從句最好用進(jìn)行體。比如：

I saw a wallet on the street while I was walking.

以上兩句雖然時(shí)態(tài)不同，但沒本質(zhì)有什么區(qū)別。

2、在 while 句中，謂語動詞可以用進(jìn)行體，也可以不需要，只須動作延續(xù)就好。分 4 種狀況：

（1）主、從句都用進(jìn)行體：

While Mary was writing a letter, the children were playing outside. 瑪麗寫信時(shí)，孩子們在外面玩耍。

（2）主、從句都用一般體：

I sat on the settee to unwrap the package while he stood by. 我坐在長椅上打開包裹時(shí)他就站在旁邊。

（3）主句用一般體，從句用進(jìn)行體：

Half the Committee walked out on the chairman while he was still speaking.

當(dāng)主席仍在講話時(shí)，委員會的半數(shù)成員便離席以示抗議。

（4）從句用一般體，主句用進(jìn)行體：

They were grinning and watching while one man laughed and poured beer over the head of another. 當(dāng)一個(gè)男子大笑著把啤酒倒在另一個(gè)人頭上時(shí)，他們都在樂呵呵地看著。
