8、Petite/plus-size/fair/tan
這幾個都是形容外貌的，就放在一塊說。
在形容人個子矮的時候，short可能不夠委婉，一般說petite，這個詞多指女孩嬌小。
在形容人胖的時候，fat明顯不夠委婉，這個時候可以說plus-size。
在形容膚色時，長得白和黑不是white和black（涉嫌種族歧視，慎用?。?，而是pale/fair（形容白），tan/dark形容黑。
9、E-mail禮貌用語
用于郵件開頭：
-I hope this e-mail finds you well.期望在收到這封郵件的時候，你所有都好。
用于結尾：
-Any response will be appreciated.如蒙回復，不勝感激。
一般正文是找他們詢問事情。
-Please feel free to let me know if there should be any question.假如有任何問題，請盡管告知。
一般正文是上交文件、材料，或者回答問題等。
-It would be great/the best if you could...
這就是傳聞中比Could you please...還要愈加委婉的請求式句型了。
10、No problem
在國內學到的是：
- Could you help me with xxx?
- No problem!
而在海外聽到的總是是：
- Thank you!
- No problem.
有時甚至：
- Oh sorry!
- No problem!
11、Shoot
除去射擊之意，還有以下平時使用方法：
-Whenever you need help, just shoot me an email.
要幫忙的時候，發個郵件給我就好。（比send更口語化）
- Ive collected some negative comments on you.
我這有一些關于你的負面評論。
-Shoot.
說。（像Go ahead，說吧，這個在海外采訪里常?？吹?
-I was shooting for 100, but 98 is ok.
我本想沖擊一下100分的，不過98也挺好。
12、告別時用語
Ill leave you be.
你繼續忙吧。（像打擾了，告辭了。）
Im off.
我走了。
例句：
- Well, its been a great party. Good-bye. Got to go.
派對非常棒，我要走了，再見。
- Im off too. Bye.
我也走了。拜拜。
Ive got to dash.
我得閃了。（英國人常說。）
13、Off the hook1
意為從麻煩中脫身，可以想象一條魚脫離魚鉤的樣子。
-He paid all the fines so hes finally off the hook now.
他把罰款都繳清了，目前終于無事一身輕了。
-My sister broke up with her fiance, so Im off the hook for buying her a wedding present.
我姐姐和她未婚夫掰了，我也不需要給她買結結婚典禮物了。
除此之外，《絕望主婦》里面Bree問她兒子Andrew，目前青年還說Awesome嗎？Andrew告訴她，他們目前都說Off the hook了，這個詞組也有Cool、awesome之意。
14、Hands down
有絕對，毫無疑問之意。
可以如此聯想，由于毫無疑問，所以不會舉手提問，也就是hands down。
My favorite TV show is hands down Friends.
我最喜歡的電視劇當然是《老友記》。

15、Sure / Of course
初中學習英語的時候記得這兩個詞常常一塊出現，表達當然，一直模模糊糊地覺得他們是一個意思，后來慢慢地才獲悉他們的使用方法有什么區別。
Sure一般用來表達欣然贊同他們的建議，意為好呀：
- Can I give you a call?
我可以給你打電話嗎？
- Sure!
好呀！
- Would you like to get a cup of coffee or something?
想要杯咖啡之類的嗎？
- Sure!
好呀！
而of course則有那當然了，不需要多說的意味在里面：
There are, of course, exceptions2 to the rule.
當然，規則總有例外。

還是農活。
