Jennifer has just finished work and is meeting her friend Anton for a drink.

Jennifer剛剛完成工作，在與她的朋友Anton喝東西。

Anton: So how is everything?

Anton:近期如何？

Jennifer: Oh God! Work is a nightmare^{1; its really getting me down...}

Jennifer:天啊！工作簡直就是一場噩夢，讓我失望透頂。

Anton: Whats the problem?

Anton:碰到那些問題了嗎？

Jennifer: Everything, its just so boring. Worst of all is my boss. He

smokes all the time so the office always stinks^{2 and yesterday he}

asked me out for dinner.

Jennifer:什么都不對勁,這份工作太無趣了。最糟糕的是我的老板。他不斷地吸煙，弄得辦公室都是難聞的味道。昨天他居然還邀請我共進晚餐。

Anton: So what? Hes just being friendly.

Anton:那又如何？他只不過出于友好。

Jennifer: Too friendly, if you know what I mean.

Jennifer:過于友好了， 你了解我指的是什么。

Anton: Sounds like you need to find a new job. I suppose you have to

update your CV. Come round and tomorrow and Ill help.

Anton:如此說來你需要找一份新的工作。我想你需要更新一下你的簡歷。明天來我家吧，我會幫你。

Next day Jennifer arrives at Antons flat.

第二天，Jennifer來到Anton的住處。

Jennifer: Thanks for offering to help.

Jennifer:謝謝你主動幫忙。

Anton: No worries. Well soon knock your CV into shape.

Anton:別擔憂，大家立刻就能叫你的簡歷初具雛形。

Jennifer: Cheers, I dont even know where to start.

Jennifer:太好了，我都不了解該如何開始。

Anton: Its not difficult. You just have to lay out all your work

experience and education in chronological^{3 order...then go online and}

start checking out vacancies^4.

Anton:這并不難。你僅需按邏輯列舉出你所有些工作歷程和受過的教育，然后上網查看有那些職位空缺就好了。

After completing her CV Jennifer went home to surf the net. She

posted over 30 emails enquiring^{5 about jobs. One week later she is}

resting at home when Anton calls.

做完簡歷后，Jennifer回到家上網沖浪。她發(fā)出了30封求職的郵件。一個星期后，當她在家里休息的時候，Anton打來電話。

Anton: Any luck with the applications?

Anton:發(fā)出的申請表有回話嗎？

Jennifer: Hi there, none at all. All rejections^{6 so far. Still waiting}

for a few to get back to me. Anything particularly interesting?

Jennifer:還沒。不過說都被拒絕了還為時過早。我還在等一些企業(yè)的回話。有哪些有意思的工作嗎？

Anton: Yeah, job with Siemens as PR Specialist but it looks like they arent

interested in me...

Anton:是呀，Siemens公關專員的工作還很好，可是仿佛他們對我不太有興趣。
